[古风] 英诗汉译《岐路徬徨》(The Road Not Taken)
【题记】罗伯特·弗罗斯特(Robert Frost,1874-1963)是20世纪90年代最受欢迎的美国诗人之一。他的名篇The Road not Taken以深邃的哲理,展现了现实生话中人们处在十字路口时难以抉择的心情。在诗中,诗人选择了一条人迹稀少的道路,同时又遗憾“鱼和熊掌不可兼得”,只有在多年以后的回忆中轻叹遗憾。
诗歌分为四节,每一节是一个五行诗(pentastich), 每节的第一、三、四行,第二、五行分别押韵,其韵法(rhyme scheme)为:abaab。本人也试图按照原诗的韵法进行汉译,深感力有不隶,难以精确传达出原诗的情致与韵味。恭候批评。
汉译标题《岐路徬徨》
黄树林间路分流, 惜难并行试两路。 徘徊岔口望良久, 一路延绵无尽头, 直至曲弯隐灌木。
另寻路径有缘由, 依旧妖娆意彷徨。 绿草纷披更凄幽。 若言足稀踏上头, 两路情形却相当。
晨曦两路默岔开, 落叶沿途未踏经。 忍抛一路待将来, 曲径交缠变难裁, 何日回归辨不清。
他年兴叹述此程, 跋涉重重身何处。 落叶零零两路横, 人稀寂径决然行, 逆旅从兹天地殊。

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference
